A. The GarageBand Playhead shows both what part of your GarageBand project is currently playing or recording, as well as being a control which allows you to pick a location in your GarageBand Project from which to play or record. Additionally it is used to designate a location in which to place a "Split" in a region. The playhead looks like this:

The inverted triangle at the top can be grabbed and moved with your mouse to any position in the GarageBand timeline.

GarageBand from Apple Computer uses audio loops and MIDI loops in Apple Loops format. It can work with Audio Units plug-ins. Apple Macintosh Compatible FireWire and USB interfaces can be used to connect Audio and MIDI instruments to your Mac, and be recorded into GarageBand.
