Q. How can I add notes to a new Software track I created? When I command-Click in either Piano Roll or Staff view in the editor, nothing happens.

A. Back in the GarageBand timeline (not the editor pane) Command-Click in the software track to create an empty region in which to place notes. You can then add the notes to the newly created region in the editor pane by Command-Clicking within this newly created region.
