Q. How can I add text to the GarageBand timeline, for instance to mark off the Verse, Chorus, Bridge, etc, of a song or podcast?

A. For these early versions of Garagebane, create a new Software Track. Command-Click in the empty track to create an empty region. Open the Editor pane and enter the text you wish displayed into the name field. Repeat for each "text bubble" you wish to see.

GarageBand '08 (and later) offers a feature called the "Arrange Track". This track can be shown, or hidden via the Track menu. Clicking the Plus Sign (+) in the Arrange Track creates an Arrange Region, click on its text once and wait a second. The text becomes editable, and you can name that section as you wish (Intro, Verse, Chorus, etc).
